Last year my solo exhibition “Life in Colour” was at Sunderland Museum & Art Gallery from Oct 18 – Jan 19. As a result of its success, the museum was nominated for a 2019 Culture Award. The nomination meant that on Thursday 23rd May, I travelled to Middlesbrough to attend the award ceremony at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Unfortunately, the museum didn’t win the North East Museum of the Year category. I had a great evening catching up with friends new and old, and would like to thank everyone at the museum and exhibition curator Esan Kaya for their hard work throughout the installation and publicity throughout the exhibition’s duration.
