Art in the Orchard 2021

Orchard to unveil a new mural at Coundon Hall Park. The special guest was Lynval Golding from The Specials who joined Councillor Bally Singh for the opening ceremony.

The mural was designed by local artist Katie O’Sullivan based on ideas from local school children. The event was free and open to all, featuring activities and artworks from a range of local artists.

Here are some highlights from the event:

• Michala Gyetvai, the Peace Orchard artist in residence, displayed her works and offered workshops to create a giant peace picnic blanket.
• Team Springboard showcased crafts and nature-based activities.
• Local artists Andy Farr, Christopher Appleby, Mark Andrews, and Heather Davison (director of the Peace Orchard) exhibited their work.
• International Artist Ranbir Kaur created a giant flower rangoli.

Heather Davison, daughter of the Peace Orchard founder, said they are excited to launch the mural and the Art in the Orchard events. She also thanked the sponsors for making the mural possible.
