The Phulawari Project organised and hosted by URJA C.I.C was a vibrant and inspiring initiative dedicated to fostering community engagement, promoting cultural awareness, and celebrating the beauty of nature. The project was run at Tipton, Blackheath and Oldbury. Inspired by the intricate floral patterns of traditional Indian rangoli art, the project aims to create a series of community-led initiatives that bring people together to celebrate their shared heritage and create a more inclusive and harmonious society.
Through a variety of activities, including workshops, exhibitions, and community events, the Phulawari Project seeks to:
- Empower individuals: Provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to express themselves creatively and share their unique perspectives.
- Strengthen community bonds: Foster a sense of belonging and connection among community members through shared experiences and collaborative projects.
- Promote cultural diversity: Celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India and its diaspora, while also recognizing and appreciating the diversity of other cultures.
- Inspire environmental stewardship: Raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources and promoting sustainable practices.
By creating a space for creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange, the Phulawari Project aims to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities, one flower at a time.
